Glass- For some reason, these beads make me think of the
flag, except of course it only has stripes- no stars, and blue and white-
no red. I think it is just the blue and white with stripes that make
such a visual connection for me. This bead set is very visual with
the strong simple patterns of stripes and dots. I created a sterling
silver frame for the focal bead that carries the pattern to another level.
The blues and rusts of the bead set are carried through with the other beads. There are lampwork beads etched to match the focal set,
Bali beads, bauxite heishi beads, Greek ceramics and Bali spacers.
The clasp is wrapped with additional coils and a stamped sterling disk
pair up with a dark blue teardrop shaped bead to make a "dangle for the
bangle." This is a large
bangle and fits up to a 7.5" wrist, but can be made smaller.
