The Outback-  This necklace is called the Outback for several reasons.  First, the rustic, etched beads were made by Kazann beads of Australia. The second reason is that the blend of textures, colors and materials have an adventurous, creative spirit that I associate with those folks brave enough to settle and make a living in Australia's notorious “Outback.”  

The beads are wrapped with sterling silver wire and accented with copper wire. The focal piece of the necklace is sheet copper that has been cut, corrugated and heated with a torch to give it an old weathered patina. An old Mercury dime, some turquoise disks and more beads hang from the copper. Sterling silver disks are attached to the surface of the copper with copper wire. One of the components of the necklace is a hand stamped sterling disk with a copper coated ceramic spacer riveted to it.   

This is really a fun necklace to wear and with the extender you have lots of options for wearing it.  It is 24” from tip to tip, with a 3.5” extender. (Shown in photo.)
