| Viking Meets
Egyptian- The delicately curled coils at the top of this necklace
are called Egyptian Curls. The woven wire that supports the pendant
is called a Viking weave- hence, Egyptian meets Viking. Can you
imagine what that really would have been like? A big hulking Viking
with horns on his head greeting a short Egyptian in sheer linen,with coiled
hair, eye makeup and wearing perfume? It boggles the imagination. This necklace is a much more
successful meeting of two techniques of wire work. The beautiful
jasper cabochon has been wrapped with silver wire and hung from the
sterling silver Viking weave, which in turn is connected to the sterling
Egyptian curls. Above the curls are beautiful jasper beads that look
so perfect with the cabochon. This is a gorgeous necklace. The
silver has been given a patina to emphasis the textures and look more
golden. The necklace is 20" long and the
